I usually do two farming runs a day, thats trees, fruit trees and patches.
I do one run when I log in the morning and another run at night.
Personally I think thats the best way, waiting for stuff to grow takes to long its best if you plant stuff pay the people to look after the tree's and log out or do somethign else.

You don't sit there doing nothing. You plant your stuff and log out/do something else and go back a day or so later to harvest and plant more.

The best xp is to do trees (expensive) and you can make a lot of money doing herbs, but slow xp.

Do it just before you go to bed and then when you go on the next day it may be done depending on what it is.

Fastest experience is to plant the best trees and fruit trees you can, and pay the farmer. It can get expensive at higher levels though.

For cash farm herbs - ranarrs and avantoes are good. Their not good farming experience, but their good cash and you can also use them to raise your herblore level.

Yeah, always pay the farmer. Then you don't have to go back until it's completely grown.
