    Default iPhone 4 on PAYG

    Heya guys,

I've just spoken to the rudest ever Orange customer service rep and she says the iPhone 4 isn't available on pay as you go until September. I told her that it seems to be available from the Orange online shop on PAYG and I heard her asking her colleagues and they had no clue... These were her words "You obviously know more about it then I do", rude ***** lol, she didn't even offer to transfer me to someone who knew and could explain in more detail.

Anyways, does anyone know if it actually is available on PAYG or is their website deceiving me?

    Thanks

It is yeah, whether they have any stock or not is another matter. Buy a SIM-Free one off Apple for £499 and use any SIM from any network (as long as it's a MicroSIM).

    That's what I did anyway.

Buy from apple. Better resale value because it's unlocked, whereas buy from a network and it's locked.

And any network will provide you with a microsim.

I knew I was right haha, the problem is I already have a contract and the rep said I wouldn't be able to transfer my contract onto the micro sim that would come with the PAYG phone if you get me. However I done my research and quite a few people have had theirs transferred over... The rep obviously had no clue what so ever so I am going to ring again and ask to speak to someone who actually knows what they're talking about .

You couldn't do this in Canada as you would need a data plan and you're not able to add a dataplan onto a pay as you go plan I think. Additionally our dataplans start at 500mb for $45 a month - and that's on top of your voice plan.

I think it's possible here, I found this thread http://www.avforums.com/forums/iphon...swap-over.html, some people seem to have done it

As already mentioned you can buy it directly from Apple sim-free. Just be careful with it on pay as you go if that's what you are doing, it could munch through money with the internet.

Ahh great not a problem then. It's just a waste tbh if you are going to have an iphone but no unlimited internet you can use anywhere. Also I am assuming you are on an unlimited internet contract? I assume this because orange and o2 class 750mb as unlimited, it's their fair usage policy. 750 really is plenty though, even if you are downloading apps all the time you are out and about.
