Default Do you think that Apple products are overrated?

I think that some are and some aren't. I've never owned an apple computer of any kind so I can't comment on those but I do believe that iPods are fantastic and aren't overrated at all, you get what you pay for. However from what I've heard and seen the iPhone seems to be overrated. Once again I don't have any experience with AppleTV so I can't comment. What do you think?

It depends on what you are looking for from a gadget. If you are looking for a straightforward MP3 player then of course iPods are overrated however if you are looking for a fashion accessory then perhaps not. If you are looking for a gaming desktop then a Mac may be overrated but if you want it for creative means then perhaps not. If you are looking for a device that gets viruses then an iPhone may be overrated but if you want a phone that does everything effortlessly then perhaps not (Sorry I just couldn't help myself).

You cannot blindly say if something is overrated or not because it all depends on what you want from a device and your personal circumstances (ie finances).

I dont think their products are overrated. I switched from a PC to a Mac last christmas and oh my god, life seems just easier with it, less confusing then a PC. my Mac just works great and copes great for my needs. I love the design of it.

iPods they revolutionised MP3 players and made music more portable and practical ( rumours of a new one from the september event) .

With my iPhone 3G i love its simplicity and how it's so easy to use. I doubt i could ever change to another phone after using my iPhone as i just love the way with the operating system. Getting iPhone 4 Christmas.

iPad, people do say its a oversized iPod touch. But it's a lot more powerful and a better memory, and great for watching movies. I'm getting my 32GB iPad on 8 of september and i'm going to mexico on the 28th so that will see how useful it is for me, like sending my course work over email.

Apple TV, I don't think that picked up as well as their other products at first It wasn't really advertised much in the public image like you see adverts for iPods , iPhones all the time. But with Apple rumoured to be realising a very much updated version in the September Apple event maybe it will change some things.

Over all, I don't think Apple products are overrated I think their worth the money they retail for most of their products look very greatly designed. Their simple to use!

Everything but their iPods are stupidly expensive.

    Apple refurb store FTW

@ Above, I don't know what you're talking about iPad memory for, it's utter crap to put it bluntly. If you mean storage space, then it's just the same as an iPod Touch so your point is moot.

The problem is, naturally, humans are going to try and justify why they needlessly spent so much money after purchase.

    Overpriced yes, rated no.

Personally I think the computers and iPads are. For the price of some of their computers you can build a new one with the same if not better spec.
As for the iPads, I have more or less an iPad; my iPod touch (or iPad mini, as I like to call it. ). There isn't many things you can do on an iPad that you can't do on an iPod touch but for some reason, I still really want an iPad. Ask me why and I'll reply ''I don't know.'' It's just after playing with one in the Apple shop, I really want one!
Most people that own an iPod touch that want an iPad when asked ''why do you want an iPad'' will probably respond with ''They're cool'' or ''I think they're great for what they can do'' or maybe even the same as my response. Either way, personally I think everything but the iPods are overpriced. But that's just me. :]

Personally, if I was to pay £400 for a tablet, I'd get this: http://www.archos.com/products/nb/ar...try=gb&lang=en

No I think they are reasonably priced for the revolutionary and truly magical products you receive in exchange.
