It's because an evil tree is nearby, if it is rather near a root will come out of the ground and many members attempt to find it.

If you're within 2 minimaps of area from the tree, then you'll get hit by a root once every minimaps worth of movement.

Its all about the Evil Tree's, every 2 hours a new tree is found in a random spot. When its fully grown any1 around it's area will see a root come up and hit them. Then all you have to do is find it, cut it down and claim the reward
