Giving reputation

At the minute, you have to rep 15 people before being able to give the same person rep. I've seen this on a few forums so not sure if it's a pluton but, i think it'd be better to have, rather than x amount of other people, to have x amount of days. So say 14 days, or 30 days. It would stop pointless spreading of reputation as there's no way around it.

Nah but cutting the use of pointless rep I thought they were, as they remove it if they see it. Maybe 7 days would be better

yeah i agree, maybe it will cut down giving away pointless rep too to make it up to the 15 rep limit at present too

Well no it doesn't, it's impossible to solve that tbh. But as I said, I think it'll reduce the amount of pointless rep

It would be very difficult to come up with a system that solved this problem however, if the rep limit was limited by time as opposed to how many people you rep, you are always guaranteed to be able to rep the same person again if they have another good post fairly soon. With it being limited by how many people you rep, it means that even if you are fairly active but don't give out rep too often as you only like to give it to posts that are really worth it, you will often find yourself being unable to rep people no matter how much time has passed.

I think 7 days would be more suitable.

7 days is probably the best tbh. Cus atm you can rep 5 people a day right? So in effect you can rep the same person in 4 days time

I believe you can currently rep 10 people a day
