I have roughly £200 to spend on a phone, I sold my iPhone as I don't like iOS, I was preferably looking for an Android phone, any help people?
I saw the LG Optimus, but wasen't sure what to think of it as it looks to me a cheap handset.

You can't reguarly get decent smartphones for around £200. However the nearest two decent smartphones are.

The Motorola Flipout is a cool little Android Smartphone and uses MotoBlur which is one of the best skins for Android in my opinion as it has all the extra features that social networking gurus LOVE.

The Palm Pre might be old now, but WebOS is really the reason anyone would buy the Palm Pre, or you could even go for the Palm Pixi, they're both good little phones. And okay they're not as popular as iOS or Android, but in my opinion the OS is MILES better. And now Palm is owned by HP so you should understand that the WebOS platform is only going to grow, and getting a Palm Pre means you'll get all the new updates aswell!
This month's a big month for phones tbh and if you can hold off and get a little more cash Windows Phone 7 is being released this month which plans to revolutionize the mobile space and again in my opinion it far surpasses Android and iOS in terms of the next step in Mobile OS' and what I've seen and tried out so far is extremely interesting.
Any ideas on when the Windows 7 Mobile is coming out and also the price, I have been looking at a Palm Pre these seem a little to old for me now.

21st October is the release date of Windows Phone 7 devices. However no pricing because obviously a LOT of manufacturers are throwing themselves behind the OS, with LG, Samsung, HTC etc... All planning to launch a device so prices are going to vary, however I doubt you're going to get a NEW smartphone for £200, and since the Palm Pre is still just above £200 it shows you either need to settle for a oldersmartphone or raise your budget.

The phone sounds amazing, I can raise my budget to around £300 maybe more if I think it is worth it, but I do not mind getting a second hand smart phone in brand new condition.
The problem with getting second hand smartphone's is you really don't know what you're going to buy. And in my opinion Windows Phone 7 is worth the extra cash as it'll have a lot of support from Microsoft and devs this time, unlike the previous versions of Windows Mobile. It's Microsoft's last chance to get into the mobile business and be successful so they're not going to let it fail. The problem is which device you choose out of all the phones they're going to be releasing :L
You can get a G1 for that price, probably even an HTC Hero.
Not the most powerful smartphone out today but certainly a nice contender.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
LG optimus, my mum has one rofl they're alright for £100 nothing major though, gets the job done and has fast browsing
Coffee isn't my cup of tea.
I was thinking about a G1 and a Hero I have seen a few Hero's for around £200 this seems very good to me.
I was also looking at this as a friend has it and when it is rooted it was very good.
If you're going to get a G1/Hero then you might aswell get a Palm Pre since the technology in it is much newer.
