Yes, believe me that was the best thing you could do.

My mate Paul likes Dani, and Brian knew, anyway Paul went to ask Dani to prom, and Brian knew and he asked Dani and she said yes.

Paul has lost interest in him, Pauls practically my best mate so iv lost interest in Brian, my friends have lost interest in Brian. Trust me, it would cause some major friendship **** ups.

If you like him and he likes you then go for it, your friend should be the one to get over it rather than you having to sacrifice your own happiness.

Your friend has no chance with him - this much has already been proven and whether you go out with him or not, this fact is not up for debate. The only difference not going for it will make is that you don't get to be with someone you like, which is just stupid. If your friend can't be happy for you then that's her problem, you haven't stolen the guy from her or anything because he was never interested in her.

I would be pretty pissed off if a girl turned me down just because I sad no to her friend. If you like him and he asks you out then you should say yes, if your friend leaves you just because of it then she isn't much of a friend as he obviously prefers you.

depends how close you were, if you're very close it's good to stick by your friend like that. if you were distant then you should have gone out with him

also, you need to consider if she would have done the same thing

In theory yes you should be able to go out with him if you both like each other. But because she's human she'll obviously be pissed off at you and very jealous, there's no way the friendship would work even if you've done nothing wrong as such, it's how things are.

I think you did the right thing if you wish to stay friends with her

Put yourself in her position, if you asked him out and he said no then he asked her out what would she say?

If my mate got with a girl I liked I'd be pissed

    However

If I got with a girl my mate liked I'd be like "why are you so pissed?"
