I suggested this a while back (get a pm/notice/user message thing whenever quoted), and it had overwhelming support and no one seemed to really disagree with it. But that said, it just seemed to fizzle out and never really heard anything about it again, any ideas about whats going on with it?

I think it was not possible or something and Oli said that before he resigned. Not a definite but if he didn't say that, why isn't it here?!

The idea was to have a list of the last 5 quoted posts on your usercp. Unfortunately the query to do it took such a long time to execute that it wasn't possible and we dropped it. A PM every time you are quoted would get extremely annoying after a while, especially when not everyone has such large storage capacity.

Yeah usually I end up leaving a link on the persons profile and I was just thinking about this yesterday so its freaky!
If a PM is possible, why not change the query to make a notification instead? Or is that not possible?

I would like to see this happen. Then if I quote someone, chances are they will reply to it whereas now quotes just seem to go unnoticed if the thread is active and moves along quick.
