    Haven't thought much about the idea just seeing what other people think.

    Well you know how MOTM's get VIP and an award, well what if they got a trial at a job as well?

    The job would be of their choice, but only if the job they want have space in.
    I think this would increase posting, and also bring the community together.

    The reason I think this may be a good idea is because some people may not be good at writing applications but may be amazing in the job role they are put into.

    Of course there would be limitations, but it just gives people chances, if you get me.

    Because tbh VIP and an award isn't much to say they have shown dedication throughout the month.

    Also it wouldn't be set in stone, they wouldn't have to take the job.


    Got the idea from seeing that you get a trial at graphics for a competition, you get one at HxHD I think for dedication and helping when staff aren't present.

    But not really any other jobs.

    I personally disagree with being able to choose the job. Being a MOTM in the general forums doesn't mean you'd be a good events organiser In my opinion, it would only work if there was something like a community department (well, they was the welcome committee but that has gone now) but there isn't so I don't see how this would work

    That's the point in a trial Luke.

    It's not like I'm saying make them SS straight away, just let them show you what they can do.


    Unless, the (A)FM's look at what departments need staff and give them a trial there if they wish.


    EDIT: Also Luke, if they got it for General then maybe they would choose forum mod instead?

    Not a fan of this idea. MOTM doesn't mean you'd been good at being staff, besides which all departments have a staff limit and staff are privy to certain information that we wouldn't particularly like to give out to someone who's just trying it out because it's been offered.

    Well what about a more varied range of how you can actually get jobs? As just by application isn't that good, as some people may not be good at writing apps but may be great at a job.

    Not all jobs are aquired via applications . Depending on the numbers needed we can use our own staff to recommend people to approach.

    baaad idea. just cause someone can post constructively and consistently doesn't mean they'd be any good at mod'ing a forum for example.

    Yeah sorry but as there are restrictions, itd be really hard to do especially as I imagine it'd be departments like hxl or forum that they'd like to enter and it'd be really stupid if every month, people were rejected every time due to these restrictions. You'd be making promises you can't deliver.

    As for your second idea regarding different types of applying, personally I think the idea that 'some people would be good at the job but can't write applications' is a load of tosh. If you can't even take the time to write a good application then it's likely you won't be any good at the job either. And it's not like every rejected application is a 'bad' application, it's more likely that other people were just better.

    I doubt many people who win MOTM would even want to be staff anyway and I am sure the majority of winners probably already are.

    It would be good incentive, sure, but I don't think it's a very good idea.

    We don't hire individuals arbitrarily. Those who are staff here were hired based on the merits that they're suitable candidates for the position in question. If we allowed the motm to join ranks with a department of choice there would be a serious issue with regards to quality control. They would quite frequently be unable to meet the criteria of the job at hand. Additionally a commitment level is necessary to maintain a job at Habbox and that would be disregarded if we simply handed a user a job as opposed to them showing an eagerness to apply for it (yes there would be users who posted frequently in hopes of being recruited but that doesn't constitute for all users who are active on the forum simply because they enjoy it).

    Also, if we gave jobs to active users and ignored other attributes I would think it would demerit the value of actually being staff. Yes it might be an incentive for some users to post more actively but if the prize diminishes in value then any incentive to achieve it diminishes as well.

    And lastly motm is something the moderation department chooses. I am not saying the department doesn't choose well (on the contrary I think they do) I am saying it is an awful lot of power to give to one department seeing that they have the ability to give any user any job they see fit in everything that is Habbox. Job recruitment is something a departments senior users and management should be in charge of. They are put in such positions because they are best qualified to make decisions about that specific department.
