    Hey,

first quater, around the time of the new ATi Series and Sandy bridge release i am building a new computer system, for gaming but won't be over clocking.

I've decided that i will be getting Ati 6850 because its slightly cheaper (From what i've heared from my inside sources) and preforms slightly better than the 5850. I'll obviously be waiting till this is released. However, if the sandy bridge is too over priced, will be getting the 5850 anyway seeing as im looking to upgrade anyway to crossfire some of the new Highend ATi 6000 series cards.

But one thing that has struck me, The sandy bridge is a completly differnt socket to the i7, and i want to get the computer as soon as possible, and seeing as im going to be upgrading to ivy bridge later on in the year when it's released and both new prosessors are the same socket i will need a sandy brdige and the i7 is possibly not an option.

The sandy bridge is more focused on intregated graphics, not performence and the ivy bridge is aimed at performence and highend systems. But i don't know how much faster the sandy brdige is compared to an i7 and on release of new prosessors, the ration to performence and cost is way out for a few months. I don't know wether to wait, and replace both prosessor and motherboard or go ahead, and get a sandy bridge on release so that im ready for ivy bridge. Any help on my decision?

    Cheers

Sandy bridge will be early next year, why make a thread this early?

Also according to my computer hardware pod-cast the ATi 5000 series out performs the 6000 series. Then again I was falling asleep at the time, I could be wrong.

I made this thread, because i tend and prefure to plan out what im going to do in advance, seeing as i nearly got all the money i need and the early 6000 series performs worse than the 5000's i belive, the higher end 6000 cards preform better but i'm not sure when there released in the year. I didn't totaly understand the image with the specs on, damn jap language!

Mind if i ask what cast you listen to?

Sandybridge will suck, go for AMD's Bulldozer.

Also, toot toot for the ATI 5850!

A amd prosessor does become tempting, seeing as i then could get the rampage III Mobo, what socket will it be?

Probably a new one. I don't know this however, also I assume "Rampage III" is republic of gamers, if it is, don't bother, they're all overpriced pieces of junk.

The 6870 is the upgrade from the 5850. The 6850 will perform the same.

As for the processor, I would definitely wait for AMD's bulldozer.
