Default What age do you think getting Engaged is appropriate?

Title says it all, i want to know everyone else's view on it I think that its weird to get Engaged at 18 like everyone else who i used to go school with is :p i think about the 20 mark is fine depending on how long you've been with that person for so like 1 year is just too soon and yeh 3 years is ok higher is fine

Between 21-30. My father was 24, mother 30 when they got engaged (I think). I think you need to at least have a job - and be sure that it will last.

When they're ready to get married in my opinion (20+ really). It winds me up a little bit people who get engaged but have little intent of getting married.

I think if you get engaged you should get married within 2 years or it's void, but that's probably just me

I'd say 21. Because I think you're classed as a proper adult then, I also think you should have been with the couple at least 4 years.. and you still like them as much, if not more than you did when you met them.

I doubt I'll get engaged till I was 25, because I don't want to do it too early and ruin my life or make a mistake. Life is for living!

Personally though I don't agree with marriage. Anti-religious.

I would say 21 is the absolute earliest, preferably around 25. It just makes sense that you are with your partner for a long period of time before getting engaged, if you can do 5 years with each over (happily) then you can do a lifetime.

    idc about the age
its more about the time you've been together
i say after 6 or 7 years (people date for 2-4 years thinking they'll be together for ever then split up) providing you're both over 22 & have the intention of getting married. i mean 6/7 years is a pretty long time to know if they're the one or not and at least 16/17 year olds won't be getting married but whatever. personally for me i won't get engaged nevermind married under the age of 26..

I'll probably be married by 25 tbh. Lol. But then I think dating for 6-7 years is too long tbh. Dating for 1-2 years, then engaged, then another year to organise the marriage.
