How do you get money? Is it from your parents, do you have to work around the house for it or is it just handed to you?

Do you work for a living? If so, what is it you do?

What are your main outgoings? Is it socialising, clothes, saving for something special?

Currently I work as a sales consultant. I earn a good wage but I'm a compulsive spender. So my wardrobes are full of clothes I won't wear for many reasons, my room full of junk

I generally spend most of my wages on socialising and nights out.

well, i work at mcdonalds but i'm not working at the moment because of going home from uni at christmas. i'll be working in a birmingham mcdonalds over christmas, then back to the canterbury one in january.
i live off my student loans + overdraft, really. it's hardwork too.

my parents stopped giving me money as soon as i got a job, but in fairness, i didn't need their money anymore. i was getting paid fortnightly, so i nearly always had enough. and if i didn't; i went without.

i spend alot of money on travelling around + gin + clothes + my xbox. ahhhhh. so poor right now.

i don't ask for money from anyone, ever. i would prefer to spend money that i earn.
i don't earn any though, i won't get a job because then i won't get paid for college. i get money to get there because i'm the only one in the house with income. honestly though, i spend some of it on clothes. my mum gives me money if i need to buy food or something at college which i normally don't & she gives me if i'm going out for something to eat with friends. otherwise, anything i want i'll buy myself.

Once i turned sixteen i've never gotten anything off my dad, if i did borrow i have to give it back. I guess it's better that way because i don't live on others. although I must say my sister does always keep me afloat. I spend my monthly earnings within a week or two, she's like a giant overdraft with no interest. I guess it's unfair on her.

there's only 2 of us, my mum is on disability benefits but she'll hopefully be back to work next year. & my mum has always saved money, never spent unless we needed so we're not too bad. she refuses to take money from either people such as family and prefers to rely on herself(probably where i get it from ;p), like yourself.
your poor sister ;o do you live with her? my dad gives my mum money for us but we're not allowed it, it's for essentials only

nah, my sister lives herself with her family. She's like... lemme do the maths... 27. She's pretty well off but she gets severely pissed off with me and my brother always borrowing off her cos sometimes between us both she lends out £600+ a month. So much so, she now takes care of our finances. Whenever I want money I need to call her and ask her. Sounds severely silly but it means we cut down on our spending.

It's so weird though. The other night I argued with her for half an hour to justify 'spending money on nothing' ie alcohol.

I used to get pocket money when i was little so i could save for games and stuff, but then that kind of fizzled out since we're not exactly that rich. So im not really a big spender (only really buy games + when im goin out), and i only really bought a game once every couple months so i'd just ask for money and id get it (not much though).

Now ive got EMA though so everything i buy is with my own money

I work in a supermarket! and very hard too! Always up for overtime, and some weeks go without a single day off. Pay is crap, however there's always room for promotions and stuff, just got to stick with it really.

My outgoings are;

paying for the car (got £5k car on contract)
paying for insurance
paying other car things (petrol mot tax)
Paying phone line/broadband (that's my contribution to the house costs etc)

other than that it's just clothes/things I want/food etc

I usually get money from my parents if I ask for it but I don't ask for it that much but usually I get money from EMA (which will be stopped next year so i'm FUMING) and I start a Christmas temp job tomorrow so i'll probably get money from that
