    Default PayPal and eBay issue

    Hey,

I bought something on eBay a week or two ago, and after wondering why no item had turned up, I checked eBay to find that the seller had closed their eBay account.

I filed a PayPal dispute for Item Not Recieved, stating that the user closed their account, which was immediately changed to a claim because the seller was "unable to respond at this time".

Yesterday they provided PayPal with a tracking number, and today an empty envelope which had been sent Special Delivery turned up at my house, with the same tracking number that the seller provided PayPal.

What do I do next? I am worried that PayPal is going to rule in the sellers favour as they have provided a tracking number, and the item was quite expensive and it was a present for my sisters birthday and I have had to borrow the money off my parents to buy another off a different seller because of this.

    Thanks and +rep for help

Continue with the paypal claim/dispute, and then if that fails report it to eBay.

I'm sure paypal say they have a pot of money aside for things like this, so the person losing out on money gets it back.

So as ROBB1EG says, continue your claim and if it fails send a message to Ebay. Im sure that ebay can find out what has happened with his account (when it closed, etc) so surely you'll get your money back.

    Good luck anyway

The simple logical thing to do would be to take a photo of the envelope and post it on the dispute stating that there is no way that the Graphics Tablet can fit in an envelope.

As Deak said - eBay will be able to find out what happened. If your claim to PP falls through (although it's very bad if it does - especially now you have evidence) message eBay and they can find out the dudes details and track them down seeing as they used details to sign up ect.
