    Default Moderator Visitor Message

Hey, i have recently got a VM from Shar, about moving my thread! It was nice to be notified about this but i really think its better suited as a PM!

I feel people shouldn't look on my profile and see VM messages about my threads getting moved.
I feel its better suited as a PM because its more private, where as forum "buddies" L) would post on my VM and have a conversation.

    Just my two pence.

I think they post it on visitor messages because it seems more, human and less formal. Doesn't work though.

I'd rather it not be on my wall and be PM'd even if it does seem robotic

I agree. The attempt doesn't work so it should just go back to PMs. What needs to happen is the less formal PMs given out (excluding the actual forum messages saying you got infracted.)

Care to rewrite a pm you may have received to show us how informal it should be?

I believe the change occured because people believed they were being punished for having threads in the wrong place, so a lot of moderators changed to using the VM system. They are free to do either and it doesn't hurt which ever way is done.

Personally, I don't think it needs to be too informal, as long as it doesn't go on an bore you to death with details.

I think a PM is far more suited as you can delete it after, as with a VM people can't delete them! (Except VIP?)

Got one for removing a thread merge tag (lol) which is perfect almost.

    Hey Josh,

In your post here: -snip- you have removed a moderator's edit. Just make sure you don't do this again so I don't have to hunt you down again. -- [Not necessarily this... had a mind blank.]

    Cheers,
    James
Just a usernote I think. Have a small little joke to break some of the tension because often, the PMs often make you feel inferior to the person who gave it for some reason which I don't like. I only had to edit that a little as Jamesy's are alright.

I would show some other ones I have, but they aren't to be shown all over the forum for the world to see and this should apply to any moderator action.

I'd rather have a nice little visitor message, they're less "grr" imo.
