Old PS3's

Anyone else getting that it seems to crash alot? It's only recently started doing it, i'm playing black ops then it just freezes :S Thinking of buying a new one.

Checked it isn't overheating? Might be worth opening it up and blowing out the dust/pollen which gets caught in the fans over the years. (use an aircan so you don't get humidity on the electronics)

Yeah it just crashes on my games, not blue ray. Buying a new one today it annoyed me so much yesterday, it got to the point where it couldn't even be bothered to load my friends lol.

My one is doing okay for a pensioner. It may have been what Stuto suggested, that it was overheating

I've had it since it came out so think its in need of being put in its box Just bought a new one £222 and got gran turismo 5 free with it

I still have a tank PS3, works like a charm. I also freeze alot when I'm online on Black Cops and so do my other friends, pretty sure it's not your PS3 but the game itself.

Yeh, mines been freezing on black ops this weekend and GT5 multiplayer menu. But those are about the only games which freeze.

I've never had a playstation that's lasted more than a year.
Obviously I get a free replacement, but Sony should really send me a decent one next time!
The one I've got at the moment seems to work fine but the fan is RIDICULOUSLY loud!

Never had any problems with my PS3, although my original fat PS2 broke way back when.
