    Default Your favourite Zelda game?

I made a thread on this very forum three years ago asking whether users preferred Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time won hands down (here is the thread). But lets see how it compares in a larger scale.

So, what Zelda game do you think is the best?

    - The Legend of Zelda (NES)
    - Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES)
    - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
    - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB)
    - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
    - The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
    - The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages (GBC)
    - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC)
    - The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures (GC)
    - The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (GBA)
    - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (GC, Wii)
    - The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (DS)
    - The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS)

I haven't included the first Four Swords as it is essentially a re-release, along with Ocarina of Time Master Quest and Link's Awakening DX and oviously games like Link's Crossbow Training aren't included.

Hold your horses, poll coming soon.

Majora's Mask, hands down. Close second is Four Swords on GBA, I used to love playing it during long journies.

Wind waker was the only one I had and I loved it!
My neighbour had it as well so we'd play it at each other's houses!

I absolutely love Zelda games, i've had the chance to play many of them and I own ALttP, OOT, MM, WW, PH and ST. Although as my favourite game of all time.. is Ocarina of Time I went for that, there is not a game that even comes close in my view, perfection in my idealistic gaming vision and playing it is basically like stepping into a time machine of my childhood.

All the others above that I own are near flawless too.

I need a wii to play the new ones, although I think the more advanced it gets, the further away it is from what I remember, and that's a bad thing for me

I've played all of them except Four Swords, Oracle of Seasons and Ages and Zelda II, but Wind Waker wins hands down in my opinion. I totally digged the new art style and the game just seemed more free and fun compared to the other Zelda games. The sheer size of the map was huge, the islands were endless, the dungeons were vast and there were so many extras, such as treasure hunting and the picto box museum (and the soundtrack was gorgeous). Ocarina of Time is of course brilliant and comes second on my list, but Wind Waker was just a lot more enjoyable and unlike in Ocarina, things didn't sometimes feel like a chore. I hope they make another console Zelda game like Wind Waker again, it just isn't the same on DS.

Wind waker did take the style of everything to a completely different level, though it seemed too cartoonish for me. But still a fantastic game nevertheless. I could never be bothered navigating all that sea - wish you could skip to destinations.. but then that would take the fun out of it.

I remember running about the map on OOT, absolute nightmare espically when I hadn't got Epona yet. + the skultulas were a bit much I thought and the reward for getting them all wasn't really the best was it?

+ I disagree about the DS comment, they are the only two games I ever really played on my DS! I thought they were fanstastic too - it maybe no wind waker like you said but it is only a handheld

You can skip to destinations, you learn the song for that not too far into the game I think and I never understood people who say it's too cartoonish. I mean, come on... it's a game. The cel-shading was completely mental though, Wind Waker actually had amazing graphics. Also, how can you disagree with the DS comment? Comparing Wind Waker to Phantom Hourglass is like comparing a Big Mac to a regular burger. The flavour is there but it just isn't as great. They're re-releasing Ocarina of Time on DS, so perhaps when you play that you'll understand what I mean. Console gaming is just a completely different experience to handheld gaming, hence why I said it just isn't the same .

I've played them all apart from Spirit Tracks, and my favourites are Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and Wind Waker. Ocarina of time, because of just how amazing it was when it came out, and is by far the best, the only problem was I was never any good at it. Twilight princess because it was awesome to do all the stuff in the game with the wii remote, and the new art style was pretty awesome too, and Wind Waker because it was really fun, I quite like its art style too, and I thought it had quite a good story too, the reason I bought a game cube aswell haha, got the platinum one with wind waker bundled.

    Four Swords was very interesting!

But i've gotta say Oracle of Ages wins. It's absolutely incredibly, and played a major part of my childhood.

    (Links Awakening was also amazing!)
i'm out of touch, i'm out of love
i'll pick you up when you're getting down
and out of all these things i've done
i think i love you better now

Only if there was multiple options..
    I liked:

    Ocarina of Time (N64)
A Link To The Past - Four Swords (GBA)
A Link To The Past (SNES)

I own the original nes ones (Still in the boxes ;D) but haven't played them.
Currently playing Ocarina of Time on my Wii!
