Finally done it all.
I have rooted my milestone, then installed a custom ROM.
It is based on the HTC Desire Z Sense UI 2.0.
Really impressed so far everything seems to be in order.

Rooting pretty much opens up Android to a whole other world. Custom themes, more apps etc, it's what really sets it aside from iOS IMO, it's truly open

I have been wanting to for ages, but people said about the risk of bricking the phone (which I didn't realise could only happen by changing your baseband..), so I didn't.
