Seen it. Twice. Love it. My third favourite series. Ever. The End of Evangelion is also a friggin' masterpiece. Think I am the only fan of NGE around here though.

Also saw the two Rebuild of Evangelion movies at London's BFI Southbank cinema last year as part of their Anime Weekend event. Absolutely amazing experience. Everyone went crazy when the second movie finished, what a cliffhanger.

Duuude you told me months ago that you were going to check out the Rebuild movies after I went on and on. What did that come to? Nothing! :@ Seriously, they are amazing and not at all as psychologically indepth as the series, check them out! Full of action, super duper animation, a fantastic plot, great new characters and overall awesomeness! They were made to be more accessible to people who weren't fans of the original series. Right up your alley - check them out!

shhh don't tell me the ending. :p

I usually really dislike anime to be honest, but my boyfriend is forcing me to watch this. :p And I've ended up liking it.

Ohohoh, haven't you seen it all yet? Let me know whether you find the ending disappointing or not when you finish it. The ending divides people right down the line and they have been debating about it ever since the anime was made. What episode are you on? It gets incredibly psychological later on.

Evangelion seems to be one of those series (along with the likes of Death Note and Studio Ghibli films) that anyone, whether you're a fan of anime or not, can watch and enjoy. Be sure to check out The End of Evangelion once you're done with the series. It's the other half of the ending (an alternate episode 25 and 26 so to speak) and usually the one favoured by 99% of Evangelion fans.

No, I've not seen the end of it yet! Um, I just watched one the other day where they tried swapping Evas in a test, and he got rejected from it, or absorbed or something, and started seeing her memories and stuff. Big flashback episode.

Tried watching it about a year ago, but the animation was a little too dated for me to get into.

You should check out the remakes (well reimaginings to be precise - they're different to the series) if you're still interested in it. The animation is spectacular.

The above video is a parody using footage from the new films obviously, haha. The one below is an actual scene.
