    Default Movie premieres.

Hey does anyone know how to / how much it would cost to be at a movie premiere (as in actually watch the movie.) i hear it's extremley rare / hard to get tickets and the only website i have found selling them is a site called celebritybid which when contacted say the price ranges from £400-£500. does anyone know if this site is trusted aswell.

Any relevant help will recieve +rep.

    many thanks.

Premieres are invite-only most of the time. Tickets simply are not on sale. They're exclusive events for those who had something to do with the film and a general batch of celebrities. Only independent films have public premieres and tickets are usually £15.00. I would not trust some ticket touting site as far as I could throw it. The only reason they'd have tickets would either be from the distributor organising it reserving seats to sell on the quiet for extortionate prices, or competition winners selling seats. I was invited to three last year that you could buy tickets to, but they were theatrically-release independent films. In 2009 I was at the Inglourious *******s premiere and that was a Hollywood prem, which are strictly off limits to the public. DO NOT buy from that site. If you happened to get a ticket to a credible film legitimately for £500, it would not be worth it. Without being on the invited guest list, you'd just watch the red carpet from the sidelines, and then the film and go home - no after party, no nothing.

Misawa i would recommend you check out the site submitted as it looks highly professional and i believe all proceeds go to charity. and from my understanding alot of premieres donate quite a few tickets for charity purposes.
I'd be very appreciative if you could

I will check it out. If it's charity then that would come under the promo seats as I mentioned (comps, etc, see my edited post), and you'd still do nothing except watch the film.

EDIT: Can't tell if it's legit, especially since you have to phone up, but a "VIP package" for a film prem seems a bit strange. I'm not sure why someone without status would want to walk the red carpet. I guess if people are that desperate to meet a celebrity for the two minutes it would inevitably be for £500. Seems a bit desperate to me. Premieres are a good night out but I'd never pay to go to one. THey're not as great as they may sound, especially when you're not Angelina Jolie.

Still, if you have £500 that you couldn't care less about throwing away, it may be your thing. Just don't expect to mingle with celebrities, etc.

When I attended the Star Wars Episode III Premier it was invite only and I've heard the majority of films are like this. However I am aware that a charity auction event is held (I believe early in the year) where tickets are available to the highest bidders.
