    Default Overprotective parents?

My girlfriend's parents are way too protective of her. We've been going out for nearly 7 months now and well, they wont let he stay out with me past 10pm nor will they let me/her stay at each others house. We're both nearly 18 too. It's just frustrating. Anything I can do?

Why not try taking her parents out for a meal and explain to them you're not a young buck just looking for a ****. Simple just explain why you like her etc and all that and impress them and im sure they will be fine about the whole thing other then that i would suggest waiting till you're 18 then they can't say **** i mean technically they cant now as she is over the age of 16 but i suppose thats just some parents.

The problem with this is, if here family weren't over proective, you'll be moaning, and she'll be depressed, because she'll have the feeling that her family doesn't give a hell about her. I know this, simply because my parents were over protective until they split up, and now there not... which one would i prefer? over protective by miles.

You are both nearly 18 anyway, once your 18, freedom is yours, move out, make a life.

I don't get why you have to stay at each others houses? My girlfriends parents don't let her sleep over either but it's not that big of a deal, but not being able to stay out past 10 could suck but you kind of just have to deal with it if you want to date her. Just wait til you're both 18 and you'll be good.
    1. Jeremy 1129 up, 295 downA named based on the biblical name Jeremiah. Used as a name for children who are blessed with a large brain and/or penis. Also used as a replacement for "perfect".
We had a child and it had a very large penis so we named it Jeremy.

Show her parents you're a good guy and want to treat her daughter etc etc. (You are, but you need to show them that.)

Man most parents are protective over their children. Give it time and it should be fine. Make sure you make an effort with the parents to show you really care

**** her in the day. Sorted.

Or even better, tell them you shoot people, film it and get paid for it. I'm sure that'll get a seal of approval.

Never had this problem, it's the proof that they care is what matters.

They might trust you but they're probably scared that something might happen.
Don't worry too much about it, make the most of it. Prove to them that you're willing to care for her.

I think first of all you have to respect their decisions, going against them would make it worse. A good idea would be to get you and your girl friend to sit down with them and have a calm and rational talk to them about how you are feeling and also what the outcome could be if they didn't stop being over protective but your also going to have to listen to what they have to say and maybe you'll understand and use can come to an agreement. Good luck.
