    Default Insurance

    Hey,

Got my test in two weeks so I've been looking at insurance quotes and even with my mum (16+ years experience and no claims) as the main driver and me as a named driver (I know it's illegal...) I'm getting stupid quotes of like £8k+, I think the cheapest I've had is 6k, other than coverbox who quoted 2.8k but I'm not 100% sure on how that all works.

Loads of websites (Churchill, Quinn, Direct Line, nearly every single site on the comparison sites) say stuff like 'Unable to quote please call' which is quite annoying because I can't call if I don't have a car yet

Any tips guys? Would I be best off ringing around once I have passed? I've added both my parents with 16+ years experience no claims no convictions etc as named drivers, main drivers etc but nothings really making a difference

    Cheers!

Dad won't let me Plus theirs is Automatic (they have Manual licenses though) and I wouldn't fancy driving one.

what car are you putting in to get insured on? you can phone them up and ask them how much it would be to insure, even if you don't have a car

Tried it with erm 1.0 Corsas, 1.2 Corsas, 1.2 Clios, 1.2 Puntos.

Just got a £4.4k Aviva quote... I'll probably ring a few soon then. It's just annoying how sites like Admiral and Bell and Direct Line just give weird error messages and wont quote.

you'd rather spend an extra few grand to not drive a car because it's automatic??
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.

Dad wouldn't let me anywhere near it anyway. I was just saying I'd prefer to drive a Manual
