Optical Illusion

I found this while browsing Newsie, flick your page up and down quickly, and it changes the egg for a second from that Red scripted dino egg colour to the purple then the blue scripted colour.
This seems bizarre that these exact colours were copied by scripters.
Anyone got an explanation for this?
It actually works better if you do it on the Newsie background.

And do it really quickly.

I've tried it. I saw it flash slightly red, only a bit then go back to purple..

And only slightly red, right at the top.

I find that it fades in colour when I 'Flick it up and down'.

It only fades in colour a little bit. All things do that.
