    Default Need a new laptop

I was thinking about getting a mac but i'm not sure at all.

My budget is £1,000 (but I wouldn't expect to spend it all)

My needs are for it to be able to play the sims 3 and run photoshop etc without any problems.

    +Rep for good suggestions
    Alexandra!

You don't want a Mac if you want to play games.

despite what everyone else seems to say - agreed.

Although the newer, more expensive ones with a ton of upgrades should still come well within that price range and might perform pretty well...

Why? Their support is great and they make decent, reliable machines, why else would so many huge coorporations, businesses, schools etc rely on them for their monitors, servers, workstations and laptops? :|

Not had any problems with Dell at all.

Cheap ass people like Acer are the ones to avoid, they make shoddy cheapo products, Toshiba also seem to be going the same way.

Agreed, I've not had any problems with Dell at all and I'm happy with their products . I agree with what you've said about Acer though, my first laptop was an Acer as well as my current desktop, and they're not great.
