Okay, I was wondering if you really watch the expiry date on food, if it was one day overdue I'm one of those people who will take a bite and taste it and see if it is edible. Is this really bad or good?

And do you do the same?

yeh i taste/smell/look at it and see if its ok. Most stuff's expiry date is like way before its actual date just so the companies who produce it cant get their ass's sued if someone does get food poisoning

    depends what it is.
before i ate a packet of crisps that was like a month out of date, didn't realise before I ate them, and I was fine
I smell it and taste it a little before I eat something I know is out of date.

Who were the crisps made by? I can always tell when Walkers' crisps are out of date because they taste like wet paper - most of time that's about a few weeks before the expiry date too :/

I sniff anything even when in date, ever since I smelt mouldy apples coming from a packet of sweetcure bacon

Bit silly considering it's partly a marketing technique to urge you to just buy more..

But yeah, dairy products I smell before I use them anyway (regardless of the expiry date) and all the rest.. well.. I never check the date tbh cos I don't eat many odd snacks like that
