    Default Student Finance question

I've still got another year at college to go but still I'm just curious.

How does student finance work exactly? How do I get it?
What does it go on? Is it like EMA where it goes on household income?

    Confusing much.

yeah it is a bit confusing, and it don't get easier when yr in the system either. you can choose whether to base it on yr household income or not, i believe if you don't you don't get bursaries and stuff if yr entitled to them though.
if yr family earns below 25k you will get the highest amount of financial support.

Basically when you start to process your finance application it can be linked to ur ucas so it knows which univeristy and courses you have applied too. then you have to enter your income which normally is 0 and then your parents income from the previous financial year. so for my application it goes on my mum's earnings in 2009/10 so for you it will be 2010/11 hope thats helped you out a little. when you come to do it though your college should be able to give u alot of support
