Spoonerisms. Named after the Reverend William Archibald Spooner, it is a play on words (well letters). Rev. Spooner was notoriously prone to this tendency. Generally, we use them now to switch the first two letters of two words - for example, "Three cheers for our queer old dean" (dear old queen). My music teacher's pretty much obsessed with them, and I'd tell you them... but I can't post them on here (and that's your job in this comp)
