One Piece (ワンピース, Wan Pīsu?) is a Japanese shonen manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, that has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since August 4, 1997. One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D Luffy, a 17-year-old boy who gains elastic abilities after inadvertently eating a supernatural fruit, and his diverse crew of pirates, named the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy explores the ocean in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as the One Piece and to become the next Pirate King. On his journey, Luffy battles a wide variety of villains and makes several friends.


Since its release, One Piece has become one of the most popular manga series of all time in Japan. It is the highest-selling manga of all time in the history of Weekly Shōnen Jump, as well as currently being its most acclaimed manga.It enjoys a high readership, with more than 202 million volumes of the series sold by 2011. Reviewers have praised the art, characterization, and humor of the story.

Do you read/watch? Watch it every week as soon as it's out
- If not, why not? Don't read it simply because of the amount of episodes I have watched, don't want to ruin the anime because the manga is better

Character? Zoro ftw, just love him though Sanji has his perks
Villian? Well I'd say hawkeyes if he counts but he's not so much a villian xP if in terms of pirates then Shanks but in terms of the navy, have to go for Aokiji .
Arc? Thriller Bark
Opening 9 or the original first opening love it... WE ARE! That or number 5 xP
Ending Hmmmm, 1 was quite good I do love 4 once it gets in to it 9 was decent enough to listen to as was 14 I supose 16 was fantastic though, a real ending though I couldn't listen to it every time, 17 was nice but I liked the video to 18 .

What do you like about the series? The story, characters, style, the art, the twists and it dosen't get boring and stale like other series have a habbit of doing coffNaruto CoffBleach

3DS Game. Hoping it gets released here. Its basically the wii game that was released here apart from in 1 part, 3d, added/updated parts

Opening Has to be the first episode as they always set the rest on the episodes.

What do you like about the series?That the story is unusual in a way with the fruits, also each of the pirates they meet along their way.

incase anyone is interested Funimation is bringing out cheaper boxsets for one piece. $25-30 for 26 eps. if you like the show buy it so more dvds wil come out. probs find it on amazon for £15ish soon
