Isn't McAfee a virus scan? Virus scans do not detect keyloggers

I am doing a mcafee online scan now, as recommended on the keylogger removal pages on Hobtech.net, so it must be neccessary. But it isnt pciking up much and I feel for some reason I dont have a keylogger, tis very weird :S
