Anyone have any idea on when I'll get this package. It came from the USA. It was valued at about $170.

How would he have to pay £100 on that at customs? :S It's gunna be more like the 20% VAT.

Things get from the USA > UK in a matter of a couple of days if that, the real wait is when customs keep it sitting in their warehouses for weeks.

• Commercial consignments of £18 or less are free from customs duty and import VAT. Customs open up almost every international package and charge the receiver based on the value. I've had $60 value cost me £40, so yes, the possibility is there that he will get such a big charge on $170 worth.
