Default Watch out for this virus I just got

This one was sneaky, it was a trojan acting as a rogue antispyware program (Win 7 Security 2012) which pretended to scan my system and came up with a bunch of spyware, viruses and worms which my laptop allegedly "had"

It also kept popping up with fake alerts at the bottom of the screen saying I had keyloggers and that my computer was being watched for credit card details etc.

I know computers a fair bit and this was the result of me just recklessly downloading, so I knew that this was a load of nonsense as it suddenly appeared after Firefox crashed upon downloading of the file. However, for a more inexperienced user of a computer, it could easily have you fooled, as it demanded registration and payment for the "full version" of Win 7 Security 2012 in order to remove these "threats".

If you do however get it, running a scan of your computer in Safe Mode with Malwarebytes Anti Malware finds it and removes it no bother at all (others probably work, however this is the one I used).

    Watch out everyone!

    Pretty common scareware.

However, recommendation to anyone who's seen it on their computer as a program:

    Backup.Format.Reinstall.
    Chippiewill.
