Intel says we have 10Ghz processors

According to the author's predictions we're meant to be at 128Ghz... interesting to say the least.

Probably because they didn't predict that it would develop to multiple cores. Wouldn't really be a point in having a processor that fast yet with the entire system pretty much bottlenecking it.

Interesting, but pretty standard for technology predictions to be overestimated, according to Space Odessy 2001 we should have a base on the moon by now.

If 10 GHz is the best that Intel can do by 2011, AMD or somebody else is going to eat their lunch. Intel better pick up the pace if they want to remain dominant. Besides, I want it NOW. What will I do with it. Well, I also want the applications now. I guess I've been spoiled by the industry and expect incredible improvements every year. - by Allen
