Notch has posted on his tumblr a few minutes ago. If you didn't know already the following has bee revealed to be in the next Minecraft update.

• NPC villages
• Randomly generated dungeons
• New biome code
• Fully working Creative Mode (and individual admins can enter
• Creative Mode on a Survival Mode server if they choose)
• Critical hits
• Sprinting
• More farming options

Seems the 1.8 update will add some great this to the game! What do you think so far?

Woot, I loved creative mode.

I just want my creative water and lava back, they were awesome.

Anyway I think this will easily get me back in minecraft, I wonder how the NPCs in the village act. I hope by new biome code that he means they appear more in regions rather then having random little bits of snow in a desert :L
