Terrorists planning to blow up planes with bombs INSIDE their bodies, authorities warn

Security at airports across the world is to be beefed up because terrorists may be using bombs surgically implanted inside their bodies to try to blow up planes, officials have warned. Until now, terrorists have attacked airlines, trains, buses and shopping centres by hiding bombs in bags, shoes or underwear to avoid detection. But in a bid to foil airport scanners, the militants may have taken the most drastic measures, cutting themselves open and planting bombs within their bodies, leaked U.S. intelligence suggests.

Security services believe the move by terrorists to surgically implant explosives was prompted by the introduction at airports of body scanners, designed to catch them before they board flights. It is thought male bombers would have the explosive secreted near their appendix or in their buttocks, while females would have the material placed inside their breasts, in the same way implants are inserted.

http://www.mercurynews.com/san-mateo...234?source=rss .. and their already talking about swab tests! remember not long ago our government wanted to fingerprint us all along with eyescans on passports and on ID cards all in the name of safety, not that any of that would actually prevent a terrorist attack and even if it did - is it worth it? whats the point of fighting the so called war on terror when the civil liberties we've lost over the past decade have been lost at the hands of our governments and not the terrorists. I have lost no civil liberties thanks to Bin Laden and Al Qaeda, I have on the other hand lost many under the last government and this present government. Who's the real risk to my freedom? Ironically enough we've just gone and made the minimal threat even worse by becoming embroiled in Libya as well as the west bomb Yemen, Pakistan, Iraq and Afghanistan because if you think Gaddafi and the survivors of NATO bombings won't seek revenge then you have another thing coming.

So this story is simply more government propaganda to scare and frighten you into giving away more of your civil liberties in the name of security and protection, protecting you from a very very very small threat. I know personally i'd refuse to go through one of these scanners, and that no government will have my DNA or fingerprints unless they hold me down and take it themselves by force - I am no criminal and do not expect to be treated as one.

This just seems like mindless scare tactics. Surely they would be in pain having the bomb implanted into them, one the size that could do damage? I'd imagine those with surgically implanted bombs are easy to pick out. I'd imagine one inside the body would have an increased chance of not working too, seeing how other bomb varieties are hopelessly unreliable in the first place. Also, what's a swab tests going to do? Sweeet buggar all

All the above is like signing an agreement saying terrorism has won and our governments are hopeless.
