Default Our ridiculous government gives away another £10 BILLION

Last night’s vote on whether to send another £9 billion to the IMF was won by just 28 votes, the tightest margin yet for this government. Despite the best effort of the whips nearly thirty Tories rebelled against the government – a combination of the usual faces as well as a large number of the new intake. The fact that Labour voted against the increase from £10.7bn to £20.15bn led to the tight 274/246 split. A relationship between of Labour and the Tory-right – the purple plot, has begun…

UPDATE: John Redwood offers some thoughts on the vote.
Well ignore Labour 'opposing' the bill because given their track record on handing cash to Europe and the IMF its clear they're only opposing it because they knew the bill would get through parliament anyway (just as the Liberal Democrats did by abstaining from a vote with the attempt to force a referendum over the Lisbon Treaty despite wanting a referendum over Europe).

But here we go again, another £10bn gone - we're never going to see that money ever ever again because as it turns out Italy is now wobbling (which i'll post on later) as the Eurozone collapses thanks to the meglomaniac dreams of those in the EU in creating a single European state. You can thank the European Union, David Cameron, the bulk of the Unconservative Party, the Liberal Democrats and even Labour for pouring yet more money that we do not have away. Mr Cameron said a few days ago that there would be no more bailouts to the EU (in an attempt to please conservative voters around the country) but what he didn't tell you was that he'd simply just give the money through the IMF instead.

I often criticised Gordon Brown for his incompetence, of which he had plenty citing the selling off of our gold reserves which lost us something like £4bn - but David Cameron makes Gordon Brown look like an economic genius with acts like these. Oh how I yearn for a conservative government which wouldn't throw our money away, but again, you'll have to vote for it.

Well done to the remaining conservatives in the Conservative Party for opposing it on principle.

    Thoughts?
