The Thing

Well I was quite shocked to discover a new Thing film on its way.

I still haven't seen the original black and white, but really love the version John Carpenter did.

What is interesting is the new film is classing itself as a prequel but seems to be the exact same story. Simply it's the original people before the team in the last film, but the same things happen.

To me this film simply is a remake that is using the prequel title to hide it. Maybe this will be a good thing, maybe as a prequel and not a sequel people won't try to compare it as much and people will enjoy it a bit more.

It doesn't look too bad, but I doubt it will come any closer. But here is a trailer:

Carpenter's is a lot better than the original.

It's a "prequel" but essentially is a remake.

This film doesn't need another remake.. The Carpenter version is as good as this film can be.
