So, finally booked my first lesson for next thursday 4pm.

What I need to know is.

In the 2 hours he has me, what usually goes on? I give him my license and accompanying documentation. But what else?

The first hour is basically sorting paperwork and basic rules of the road etc and how to drive, the only driving i did on my first lesson (which was only an hour) was drive forwards about 100 metres. Then in your second hour you'll just get to drive i'd assume!

In my first lesson (two hours) I ended up doing a hill start and a turn in the road, no joke.

Depends on the instructor and their scheme really, but don't expect to do a lot of driving.

In my opinion don't waste your money on the first lessons. Get a family member to teach you how to drive on private land and then just use some lessons to touch up on the rules, prepare for the test and get practice on the road when you can drive with ease.
