    Default I Just Installed Windows 7 On My Laptop... Now I Need Help.

    I bought Windows 7 yesterday, home premium. My laptop was vista. It came with the machine when I bought it. So anyway, I've got windows 7 and everything up now, but my laptop feature's don't work. Well they do, but not like what they should do.

    For example;

    Mouse pad: Has a turn off button next to it so you can turn it off or on. On vista, a image would come up on the screen, a cool one, showing you turned it off.

    Volume: On the top right of my laptop, I have volume button. This, doesn't work at all.

    Other: I have some other random buttons on the top that used to show a image when you clicked it and so on.

    It's just things like that that's not working like it should, part of the laptop. People have told me to do a hardware check and stuff but I don't know how.

    Or to go on the manufactores website and look for the downloads... I don't know how to see what type of laptop I have. Apart from it's acer.

    Help would be amazing.

    You need to find out the model name and mumber, it'll be written above the keyboard, below the keyboard, on the bottom of the screen, on the back of the screen or on the bottom of the laptop it self somewhere, you just have to look!

    You shouldn't have any problems but sometimes at least with old laptops software is compatible with that operating system so upgrading can lead to some dedicated features of that model not working.

    However as Windows Vista and 7 are similar I don't see how it will cause any problems.

    I'm just gonna make an assumption and say that software was pre-installed to make use of those 3 functions and will easily be downloaded.
