Rosetta stone halp

Hey, I've recently decided that in the spare time I have, to attempt to learn a language.

Now before I go ahead, I need help.

If any of you have prior experience that'd be amazing.

My question is.. Does it work?

myself and my sister can speak fairly decent french, as in i could carry a detailed conversation with a french person well....
we used rosetta stone for about a year, because our reading/writing of french was nowhere near the standard it should have been (mums french canadian)
it didn't really help too much, i found it really repetitive and tiring and not to mention sometimes when they make you pronounce things, even if you're doing it correctly it still says its wrong. VERY ANNOYING.

SAYING THAT my brothers 2 years younger than me, and couldn't speak a word of french.
he used it the same time as us, and it worked really well for him, he's not a very bright boy and he's incredibly lazy
most of his grades would be d's and c's but in french he'll get a's and b's
it's really all down to how you learn things, it may or may not suit your learning techniques

also french is a lot more difficult, if you were to learn a language especially using rosetta stone i'd recommend italian or spanish

Now to answer your question now I've been disappointed. I've never used it, just guess it's some sort of interactive learning programme that teaches you phrases and sentences some how. Personally, no matter how hard I try to learn a language I always fail, but I guess some people pick it up easier than others I suppose.

I agree pretty much with what Tara said. It did feel really repetitive and it was frustrating when it didn't recognise my voice properly. I learnt a lot more working from an audio book.
