Sony Ericsson Satio wont charge with the sim card inside.

I simply don't understand why my Sony Ericsson Satio wont charge with the sim card inside. I'm not really into the technical aspect of phones but I never thought there would be some sort of conflict happening between charging and reading the sim. It is a Sony Ericsson right enough and there short life spans are a well known occurrence. Does anybody know why this might be?

I've currently got six months or so remaining on my contract. If I were to take it into the 02 shop would I have the handset replaced or would they offer to send it away for repairs free of charge?

repair free of charge, or if they were evil they could make you contact sony ericcson.
Any O2 shop will allow you an early o2 upgrade, this will cost you money.

effectively it's your line rental x remainder of contract - 40%
= what you have to pay

or, go to a phones 4u and ask for an 'early o2 upgrade' and explain you need help with paying for it, they should give you a good chunk of it.
