Most store policies can let a costumer trade in for store credit or the same item if the item is returned in it's original packaging (most times, unopened).

Usually the person working the return-service counter are not that well intelligent enough to thoroughly check every item... which reminds me of this.

fair enough if you want to do this

but imo, posting about it on a public forum is a bit moronic.

Well, they weren't fake as such, I paid £60 from eBay, so I wasn't 100% on them, the store inspected them, and they said its fine

Most stores will swap them for you, or even give you a credit note, but they will 99% of the time never give cash
