Winamp + Shoutcast keeps crashing.

I am practicing doing some DJing using Winamp with Shoutcast. I can broadcast music using the Winamp input device, but its when I switch to the Soundcard Input so I can do some talking, the program crashes on me every time. Meaning I am forced to close Winamp and re-connect to broadcast.

I unfortunately do not have SAM2 Broadcaster (Not sure how to re-obtain it - cant afford to spend $299 )

Does anyone have any idea's how I can stop this from happening, or atleast how I can get SAM back?

What version are you using of both Winamp and the SHOUTcast plugin. I know SHOUTcast 2.0 is out, but if your paying monthly for a server your supplier might not have upgraded to the new version.

It could also be a problem with your sound card. Have you tried updating your drivers, as out of date drivers can sometimes cause problems. Device Doctor a free program for finding and downloading updates might come in handy. http://www.devicedoctor.com

If all else fails you might want to try and completely uninstal the two, delete their folders and any application data folders and make sure all registry keys are removed. My Winamp was crashing with general use, and this was the only way to fix it - sometimes instaling something over something that is already broken doesn't really do much help - You can try something like CCleaner to uninstal and find and delete any left over registry keys. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
