    Default School concerns

So I'm in year 13 now (scary), and the two lessons I'm currently doing are Music and Performing Arts BTEC's. I love my music course, as it's helped me with career choices, I never knew what I wanted to do until a little while ago.
However, I could not feel more different about my Performing Arts course. I don't enjoy one minute of being in it, I strongly dislike doing 10 whole hours of a lesson I will get nothing out of in the long run, but I feel if I drop it, I might regret wasting a years worth of work, and only coming out of 6th Form with 1 A-Level (even though college next year is an option to obtain more).

I don't know if I'm just being silly about the whole thing. My parents don't seem to really want to know when I mention how I feel about it, and I don't feel I can talk to teachers at school - they're useless.
    Advice/opinions anyone?

Last year i had the same situation with my BTEC Level 2 Performing arts course. What I did was had a conversation with my year head and they worked out a plan to enable me to enjoy it. Performing arts is quite a hard subject but it does get better through the year

performing arts (i did acting as opposed to like the full performing arts) is worthless unless you enjoy it and want to make a career out of it. however, i dunno if you want to go to uni or get a job or whatever, but i think you will need another a-level. have you thought about doing another year at college and picking up an AS level now?

In that case, yes it will be worthless, I chose it purely because I never knew what I wanted to do, and now I realise theatre isn't it
I will only consider media now, as I think its more suitable
    Thanks for le adviceeee
Other problem 3 of the hours I have a teacher who I dislike a lot l0l

I didn't take a BTEC just 4 A levels and I enjoyed all of them but that's because you want to do it so it's what you like. I see what you mean where you say you didn't know what you wanted to do therefore, picked them! I am in the same situation I was going to opt for ICT more so went with more ICT based courses; ICT and Media and English can always come into that with a lot of jobs like typists etc. Then business could be developing business in ICT but I failed business. Anyhow, I feel talking to a teacher of somesort may help or just talking to a friend to see if she has any neat tricks to make it a more enjoyable subject for you. Media is also a good option to take as there are lots of options that open up with the course!

Also with the teacher problem, if you don't like them there's not much to do you will probably find it more boring with them and stuff maybe? I also think it depends how much you don't want to do the course or get a job linked to that course as it would be pointless if you severly knew you didn't want to do the course!
