    Default This Is England '88

Renowned filmmaker Shane Meadows follows up the explosive, Bafta award-winning This Is England '86 with three hour-long films.

"They say Christmas is a time for forgiving and for forgetting, a time of love and laughter and joy ever after... With echoes of A Christmas Carol, Meadows is set to take viewers to places they never thought they'd go to. Haunted by the devastating events that took place 18 months ago, Lol and Woody both find themselves struggling to cope with the emotional fallout. And they're not the only ones lacking in festive spirit, as Shaun learns the hard way, just how much love hurts."

This Is England '88 is scheduled to be shown on the nights of the 13th, 14th, and 15th of December on Channel 4 at 10pm.

You can read a detailed synopsis of each episode here on Channel 4's website. Though I would advise staying away if you don't want spoilers.

The first episode was screened in London last week. Responses so far have been extremely positive. Expect a trailer/preview within the next week or two.

I watched it and it was great.
The 'fight' between milky and woody was amazing, joseph gilgun is an amazing actor he made it so raw and believable.
Woodys relationship with his boss was hilarious throughout also.
Shaun did my bloody head in though he's such a **** character, he gets even more boring every time!
Really dislike Harvey as well , feel sorry for gadget hope he doesn't have cancer !

Ah, glad other people have seen it! I couldn't more with you guys! Joe Gilgun absolutely stole the show. I was completely blown away by his acting, the fight sequence in episode three was so heart-wrenching it was difficult to watch. Then that last scene with Dogwood Blossom playing... ugh. Tears were wept.

Yeah, Smell was pretty fab in '88. Her scenes were brilliant. Epic luls when she walked in on Shaun ************.

This is England '90 has already been confirmed. The rumours are Combo is going to be released from prison, but nothing is set in stone. Part of me doesn't want a This is England '90 because I feel I can't bear watching these characters go through any more turmoil!
