    Default Gary Speed found dead.

"Wales football manager Gary Speed has died at the age of 42.His death was confirmed in a statement by the Football Association of Wales.
The statement said: "We extend our sympathies and condolences to the family. We ask that everyone respects the family's privacy at this very sad time."
Speed took over the Wales job in December 2010, and earlier this month, said the side's rapid improvement had exceeded all expectations.
A 4-1 friendly win over Norway represented a third successive win for Wales, and Speed's fifth in 10 games as manager.
At the time, he said: "We've progressed further than I'd have thought in this space of time but we've still got a lot of work to do."
Speed won 85 caps for his country during a 14-year international career.
He was given the top job in Welsh football despite only having four months managerial experience."

really sad news, he was a player at my club (bolton) for a while and captained, he was found at his home and apparently could be suicide. really sad. r.i.p mate.]

R.I.P. I don't know much (if anything) about him however the fact that my MSN has now got several PMs saying "R.I.P Speed" gives me the impression that he was a well known, and probably liked guy. R.I.P.

It's sad that he felt so alone he had to take his own life, a friend of mine did the same about 2 month's ago and whilst I do think it's extremely selfish, it is also very sad. Thoughts are with his family and all who knew him.

    Very sad news.

Shame he felt the need to commit suicide. Was he the current manager of Wales?

Awful news, fantastic player in his time, lovely chap (don't know of anyone that didn't like him) and managing a fine up-and-coming Wales team. Just goes to show that you can never truly know what's going on in someone's head regardless of outward appearances and actions.

I remember always hearing his name on the radio and thinking 'I have a little toy of him' and that's where I knew his name from, I never knew which team he was for at the time soon to find out it was Leeds but regardless of a team I don't support in both Leeds, Wales etc it is a shame to have him gone! With Swansea playing as well today it's a real shame as he was doing wonders for Wales. RIP!

Terrible shame. Fantastic player, one I was brought up watching, the applause he received before the Swansea game earlier was very moving. Given crying prior to kick off and Bellamy asking to be left out is understandable. RIP. Great player, fantastic manager, presumably found by his wife and two sons. Thoughts are with his family.

It's nice to see him getting some recognition, I was expecting everyone to go down the line of cussing him for being Welsh etc.
Also its really nice to see many English and Scottish teams paying respects, I honestly didn't think he was very big outside of Wales.

    RIP Gary
