Just wondering how people made their choices, right now I'm thinking about possible unis and so far I have 2, but I've no idea how to choose any others.

I compiled a list of all the universities in the UK, then I got rid of all the ones I didn't want to go to and all those that I decided were too far away. From there I picked out the universities that offered a degree I wanted to do, which narrowed it down further. Then from there I picked the five that sounded the best and had the best reputation.
I first started by going down the league table and compiled lists of the ones which I felt I could get in. The problem was that I did all this purely on UCAS and I didn't look at the course content. It turns out that "English" isn't the same as "English Language" - and I wanted the latter. I had to look down the list of universities again seeing which ones did English Language.
Then when I got my AS results through, I had to reconsider because I got slightly higher than expected. I visited Leeds and Newcastle prior to applying and we had a drive around the Lancaster campus earlier in the month. In the end, there were three that I really wanted to apply for (Lancaster, Leeds and Newcastle), and the other two were just added on the end incase I didn't get offers (Birmingham and Sussex). Thankfully, I've now received offers from them all and I'm pretty stuck over which to choose!
okay i chose mine for the worst reason ever because my long term boyfriend lived near there and i wanted to be with him haaaa!!!! luckily it was a good university (uni of kent) but i had to leave regardless. i'm hopefully going back to uni in september and this time i will be compiling all the university's in the area (i can't leave the midlands) and seeing which course is more suited to me.
i chose the one closest to me, i aint leaving my mum!! no way. plus i know like nothing about university or university life so i don't really care about the social aspect etc as long as there's plenty opportunities then it's good enough for me
hehe is that before or after he stole your tights? ;Pokay i chose mine for the worst reason ever because my long term boyfriend lived near there and i wanted to be with him haaaa!!!! luckily it was a good university (uni of kent) but i had to leave regardless. i'm hopefully going back to uni in september and this time i will be compiling all the university's in the area (i can't leave the midlands) and seeing which course is more suited to me.
i was really bad. i didnt go on any open days but i went to york st john for a conference and really enjoyed the atmosphere and my gut instinct just told me it was the place to go. rather stupid really now that people seem to have some big massive chart where they rank unis out of 5but it's all worked out for me![]()

I don't plan on going to uni because I'm doing hairdressing at college in september but we had an opportunity to go to an open day at Hull uni which is 30 mins from me in year 9, so if I went to uni I'd go there because it wasn't too massively big and it seemed really nice and calm atmosphere there.
Ah thanks for the help everyone, I've just spent a few hours looking at the various unis/courses and I've got my list of 'possibles'!![]()
