Default Just how accurate is the marketplace?

I'm an old-school habbo but I'm slowly starting to understand the current values of furni. I just wanted to know how much I should trust the marketplace. I mean.. it says the average price of HC's are 3c even though pretty much everyone sells them for 1-2c per.

Just what is the best way to find accurate values? Use this site, use the marketplace, or hang around coin shops? Just how frequently is this site updated? I managed to buy 10 HC's 1c per (it was to my understanding that they were worth 2c per), and I was going to sell them all back for 2c per so I can make a profit. But now, everyone is saying the price dropped to 1c per during these last two days. What exactly is the cause of these random drops in value?

Sorry for all the questions. Help a noob out? [:

Average price of HC Sofa in the marketplace is 3c because of the 1c commission added to it. So the average price is 2c. You can sell those HCs for 2for3c (1.5c per). Don't get ripped off by people who come to your shop. The HC has not dropped after the merge, It remains 2c per.I recommend using marketplace for values of seasonal furni. For rares, you can check habbox rare values.

by adding commision it doesn't give a very accurate price but if you take 1 - 3c off what there selling in the mp then that should be the price.

Yeh like what has been said, the marketplace is to blame quite a bit for the fall in a lot of prices. The fact that there is always the thing you need being sold means that sellers and buyers know a guide price and the prices keep going down and down to sell things. The commission also ruins the prices because it just ruins the pricing. As much as the marketplace is great and useful, I do dislike a LOT of things about it lol.

It's quite accurate to be honest, and things are quite cheap. I like using the marketplace if im honest,

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I love hc sofas and I managed to buy 21 of them 1c per today. Pretty soon I'm gonna sell them 2 for 3c and hopefully gain some profit. Any chance that HC's will increase in value again?

Nah, I don't think that they'll increase in value, not in a few years at least

It depends on the item, and you must pay attention to the average rather than the current selling price.....

Its accurate for general rares and lots of the other things but obscure furni like sushi, necklace in frame and coloured ice its often wildly overpriced.

I often trade at prices a certain percentage below MP price, and I stick to that.
