HxHD ~ Guild Gate?

Wouldn't it be a better idea to have a guild gate in HxHD?

This would mean only people who are in the group would be able to access (even if the gate is open, if you're not in the group you can't access) so theres no way for normal members to abuse staff lagging etc to get into staff area.

From what I see atm some staff don't bother going into staff area due to lazyness/effort to go through SE, theres always several people sitting in the desk but not bothered going behind the desk

This would encourage more staff to go behind the desk as it's just stupidly easy.

It mostlikelywont work because if non help desk staff want to get behind the desk they will stand next to the gate and when someone walks though the will mass click inside the desk and will get in, ive done it in some night club lol.

Yea this would be good It is impossible to run in unless you are in the group.

unless you are in the group, there is NO way to get into the staff area.

If the group is moderated then the owner (presumably mattg) will be choosing who can join the group and who can't.

I don't think there's any point in changing something that isn't broken, we've already got the staff area which is already secure enough to keep the staff in and the visitors out. If there are staff that are actually saying that they can't be bothered to go through the other way, surely they can't be bothered to help people out and do their job correctly. It's simple really, if you're too lazy to go through the staff entrance then you shouldn't go behind the desk, it only takes two minutes to get into room.

Another reason why I don't think it would be a good idea is basically just the way it looks, it's not the best looking piece of furniture and I don't think it will fit the theme of the help desk, it will stand out too much. It's also just something else to waste credits on when it's not really needed.

The gate doesn't compromise security.

90% of the staff should of been fired a long time ago, but thats a different subject.

Even earlier there was like 4 help desk staff in hxhd, hoteluser came in and asked staff to go behind the desk, then on emember stated to move the desk as they couldn't be bothered going through SE. And know for a fact this member isn't the only one.

There are pros and cons to this,
Yes it will improve that fact that we Dont have to go through the SE.
But it also looks tacky and which piece of furniture will go with this?

Does it really matter if it looks tacky? Just put it somewhere where it's not instantly in your face. I think it's a good idea as most of the staff can't be bothered to go the longer way.

I do believe there is a hxhd staff group already made that hasn't been touched since I was in management, so we could always update the group with the current members.
