I don't want props from specific movies just like general props that I could use in a film.

I'm particularly looking for like a (fake!!) gun - preferably one that like makes a big noise and flash when you trigger it, also some court props like the little hammer thing and that wig thing they wear

don't they just use empty rounds?

Well, they use special effects, which is edited in after, so they have like a plastic gun, which they just do a recoil action. then fill in the flash and sound afterwards.

EDIT: Also if you want something with a sound, get a cap gun. It's a gun which doesn't fire anything but it pops a cap which gives off a loud sound and smoke.

Prop guns are usually rubber or real and fire blanks.

fancy dress shops are great for props or speak to yr local theatre and ask about either renting or borrowing some of their props if it's for college or whatever they'll probably help out
