Don't know what to do?

Okay so this thread is basically about my maths teacher and how events between me and her have escalated and now half the teachers at this school have a bad opinion of me even though they've never spoke to me and never taught me.

In November I was sat in maths and my teacher all of sudden tells me to stop talking when I was facing her listening to what we were going to do. Then about 5 minutes later she tells me to stop tapping my pencil on the desk when I wasn't, I had my head on the table next to my work and was writing down an answer, when I said "Miss, I wasn't tapping" she got in a complete mood and sent me out of the class. When I went back into the room there were no further problems and I thought that the matter had been resolved with just a private word outside the class.

Later that day I was in my form room and my head of year came to talk to me and he explained to me that I was going to be on form tutor report for a week. So I asked why and he said it was because of what had happened in Maths. I got on with the report and then even though I was getting all good marks in every lesson I was kept on report for another 2 weeks after the initial week. After that I had no real problems with her apart from little things that she seemed to notice and gave me detentions for them.

After Christmas I decided to take an energy drink into school because I was tired and we had PE first lesson so after the PE lesson I drank the drink at break time. She saw me with the drink, took it off me and said it was confiscated. She didn't give me a reason why and she refused to give it back when I asked for it back because it was fizzy and by the end of the day it would have been flat. It was flat after an hour of her taking it off me so it would have been like a pancake.

A few days ago some people in my class were talking about friends with benefits and I didn't have a clue what it meant so I asked what it meant and the teacher told my head of year that I was makinginappropriatecomments in class when I didn't even know what it meant.

It seems like she's getting me in trouble over tiny little things and making a big deal out of them. Any help?

right, i used to have this same mindset when i was at school and let me tell you, it does NOTHING for you. if people have a bad expectation of you, fine, just don't live up to that expectation, prove them wrong. it's more about you than them, something i learnt with age is that teachers aren't actually picking on you purposely and most of the things were my fault all along.

i know it's hard to swallow when yr at school, but you'll look back in 2/3 years and see what i'm saying. just do yr best, no-one has a prior opinion of you. they're there to teach you, not judge you. just do yr best.

As bethie said, teachers are there to teach - they don't teach you at school so they can form an opinion on everyone... if they do, they really should not be a teacher >.< In fact one of my friends got screamed at by a teacher day over something similar to your first paragraph and she burst out crying because she actually did nothing >.<

Anyway, I've had tonnes of teachers who fuss over nothing lmao. My old french teacher used to rage if you sneezed... it's like wth, anywayy, just ignore her - I've had a fair few teachers who seem condescending andjudgmentaltowards me, but that shouldn't be of any bother - just do the best you can in school, ignore anything ""stupid"" she does and focus on your education.

Dnt care about how people view yr personality first, it should always be your education first (in this case).

Do want to get your teachers on side. Even if you don't get on with your maths teacher - as long as you continually get good grades and other teachers (that actually teach you) like you, then there shouldn't be a notable impact. I have a bad french teacher but just put up with the lessons and don't argue. Will only have her for another year or so - not worth the beef.

oh just incase - friends with benefits - "couple not 'officially' bound to each other, ie still single but have the 'physical' benefits of a relationship to satisfy them.

Have you told your mother as she may want to get an appoinment to see the person in charge of this teacher as there are bad teachers around.
There may have been more complaints about her. It does seem from what you say that she is picking on you which is not fair.

I think it's really important that you can concentrate on your studies and your obviously not happy andcomfortable around your teachers. I personally would speak to your parents who can speak to the school. Or if you have a guidance teacher then maybe speak to them?

Yeah, my dad and step mum went in but even my dad and step mum haverealizedevery time they go in, she gives me a detention or gets me in trouble for something that I didn't do. It all started when the teacher started saying she'd e-mail my mum in class when I'd just recently been "kicked out" by my mum and been forced to live with my dad. My step mum and dad went in and ever since that day she's been "picking on me".

And about the prejudging thing, it's all the teachers that are in the maths and science staff room where all the maths and science teachers eat and gossip/chat about stuff. I got moved down in Science when I wasn't getting bad grades and she gave me a D for behaviour and effort (out of A, B, C, D, F). Just seems like every time I try to ignore them they try harder next time.

I used to have a lot of problems with teachers in high-school. I would show up late, leave early, skip class or just not go. Teachers had a bad opinion of me but I didn't care, I always handed in my assignments, got excellent marks - my view was like if you're going to teach out of the book, why can't I do that on my own time? I graduated 4th out of my class. If you can get the marks and have proof, they can't give you a bad grade.

Wow what a horrible woman. Who exactly did your parents visit?Honestly Iwouldn'tignore a situation like this. If she is doing this to you, she could also do it to other students and its not worth you being miserable. I would get your parents to go back in and demand a meeting with both the teacher, your principal, your parents and yourself and raise all your issuesHow can they justify moving you down when your grades are good?I'm sure if your principal doesn't solve it, there are higher up people you couldcontactlike the board ofgovernors.

We've seen the head mistress (principal), the teacher, my head of year everyone but every time we go in the teacher seems to get more annoyed and takes it out on me and my learning. I know I sound like a wining little kid but I literally can't say or do anything without getting in trouble. Half the teachers in school hate me now because of what she's said about me. Just fed up.
