    William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

I'm currently studying Romeo and Juliet in English and I've watched both the original Romeo and Juliet and the newer remake of it. I think the newer remake of Romeo and Juliet is the better of the two as it helps people of this day and age to understand Romeo and Juliet in more depth and also understand the language a bit better. I think the director has achieved this by reinventing the play in modern times using guns instead of swords.
P.S I found the ending really sad as I was really pulled in by the romance and love between Romeo and Juliet

What are your views on this film and do you prefer this version to the older version and why?

Aw, I actually really enjoyed the first one but I guess the second one was easier to understand. I found the newer one much more sad tbh!!

The newer one is by far way more entertaining so therefore I understood it more and was able to actually watch it properly without just laughing at the costumes which is actually all I remember from watching the older one. Plus Paris dresses as an astronaut in the newer one and has pathetic dancing

I think I watched both during school. I much preferred the new one cause it was easier to understand.
